The only legitimate use it was put to was that first mentioned, for which
purpose it was built. Fortunately very few persons, indeed, only one individual,
required its use for fever or otherwise the other services to which
it was put would have had to cease.
One nurse also used the Shelter House after attendance on a patient who
contracted Scarlet Fever, during her confinement.
The following is a record of the work performed by the Steam Disinfectors during the past thirteen years:—

School Children Cleansed and Bathed.—In the latter half of the
year, from September to December, 305 children attending the London
County Council Schools were bathed and cleansed, and their clothes
disinfected.
