CUBING WORKS.
Roman Road, from Caledonian Road to a point 100 feet northeast
thereof.—The macadamized carriageway has been paved with new
3-inch x 6-inch granite setts on a foundation of blue lias concrete at a
cost of £319 0s. 6d., towards this amount the London Road Car
Company contributed a sum of £50.
Berners Road, from Upper Street to a point 200 feet west thereof.—
The macadamized carriageway has been paved with new 3-inch X 6-inch
granite setts on a foundation of blue lias concrete at a cost of
£245 1s. 9d. The whole of the carriageway of this road is now paved.
Duncan Street, from Upper Street to a point 232 feet south-east
thereof.—The macadamized carriageway has been paved with new
3-inch X 6-inch granite setts on a foundation of blue lias concrete at a
cost of £397 8s. 8d.
The cost of the work in the above mentioned roads was defrayed
by a loan obtained from the London County Council.
Wall Street, from a point opposite the north end of the Prince of
Wales P. H. {No. 55) to Southgate Road.—The macadamized carriageway
has been paved with redressed pitching, supplied by the Contractor
on a foundation of blue lias concrete at a cost of £(14 3s. 3d.
High Street, from Duncan Street to a point opposite the centre of
No. 64.—The macadamized carriageway has been paved with old
pitching, redressed and laid on a foundation of blue lias concrete at
a cost of £74 2s. l0d.
Graham Street, north-east side from a point near the centre of the
Canal Bridge to a point opposite the centre of No. 123.—The
macadamized carriageway has been paved for a width of 7 feet 2 inches
with new 3-inch X 6-inch granite setts on a foundation of blue lias
concrete at a cost of £93 13s. 7d.
PITCHED CHANNELS.
Pitched channels have been laid in the following roads, in some
cases with old granite setts redressed and laid on a foundation of new
concrete.:—
Monnery Road.— South side, in front of Nos. 2a and 2B—cost
£4 19s. 8d.
