SEWERS RATE.
A Rate of ½d. in the £ will be required to defray the expenses
connected with the Sewerage of the Parish during the six months
ending Michaelmas next. The Rate last year, for the same period, was
¼d, in the £.
From the foregoing, it will be seen that the total rates, in the £,
required for the ensuing half-year will be 2s. 6¼d. This is an increase
of one farthing in the £ upon the current rate, but it must not be
overlooked that, out of this, the Vestry is responsible for little more
than 7¾d. in the £, the remainder, about Is. 10½d., being required for
purposes over which the Vestry has no control.
The subjoined statement gives the proportions of the Rate under
the several heads of expenditure and also shews the figures for the two
previous half-years for purposes of comparison.
