The total cost of the materials has been £17,667 7s. 6d., compared
with £14,147 12s. 2d. for 1888-9, an increase of £3,519 15s. 4d. By
comparing the quantities with those for the year named it will be seen
that more materials have been used for the repair of the macadam and
flint carriage ways during the past year. The price of Guernsey
granite and other road materials, with the exception of flints, has
largely increased, whilst the prices of Masons' and Paviours' work
have remained nearly the same.
