Ten samples of milk were taken on a Sunday in December—
two were found to be adulterated by the addition of water.
BUTTER.
Seven (12.06 per cent.) of the samples of butter were found to contain foreign fat (fat other than the fat of butter), as follows:-

Two of the samples were submitted by a private purchaser,
and were both adulterated.
WHISKY.
Three of the 29 samples of whisky were unduly diluted with
water, so as to bring them slightly in excess of the limit allowed
by the Act of Parliament, 25 degrees finder proof.

MUSTARD.
One sample ot mustard (No. 53) had been mixed with at least
15 per cent, of starch and farinaceous substances, and was certified
accordingly.
