Coroner's Court.—The Vestry Clerk has drawn
attention to the provisions of the Public Health
(London) Act, requiring the County Council to
provide and maintain proper accommodation for
the holding of inquests, and empowering them to
come to an agreement with the Vestry for such
provision and maintenance. The Council has
hitherto paid a fee of 7s. per four hours for the use
of the Court already provided, which has produced
a revenue of about £20 per annum, and the Vestry
have therefore been in correspondence with the
Council for a payment more commensurate with
the cost of the building, and an agreement has
been arrived at that the Council shall pay an
annual sum of £50 for the use of the Court for a
period of twenty-one years, determinable at the
option of the Vestry or the Council at the end of
seven or fourteen years, upon twelve months'
notice.
