To the Vestry of St. James & St. John, Clerkenwell.
Gentlemen,
I do myself the honour of laying before you my Fortieth
Annual Report on the Mortality, &c., of the Parish during the
year 1895.
The number of deaths occurring from all causes in Clerkenwell,
during the year 1895, was 1,038. The annual average for
the last ten years was 1,109, so that the deaths were 71 less than
the average; the deaths in 1894 having been 807, those in
1895 were 231 more than in the preceding year.
The accompanying table exhibits the number of deaths which have taken place in the Parish in each of the last ten years, the births in each year being placed opposite :—
