SURVEYOR'S REPORT.
To the Vestry of the Parish of St. James and
St. John, Clerkenwell.

Vestry Hall, Clerkenwell,
31st August, 1893.
Gentlemen,
I beg to lay before you my Report upon
works, &c., executed by your Vestry during the
year ending Lady-day, 1893.
SEWERS AND GULLIES.
Forty-four sewers were cleansed and repaired,
2 new side entrance covers were fixed, 9 new
gullies constructed, and 3 new gully drains laid, 5
new ventilating grates fixed, 395 gullies cleansed
and repaired, 3 trapped, 27 new gully grates and
1 new flushing box fixed, 1 flushing shaft constructed.
One hundred and thirty loads of deposit were
removed from the sewers and gullies.
Fifty-six private drains were let off by the sewermen
at the expense of the owners of the premises
upon which the drains were stopped, for which the
sum of £5 12s, was received by the Vestry.
