Firms, giving statutory notice of their intention to
apply in the next Session for Provisional Orders for
Electric Lighting in the Parish:—
Messrs. Latimer, Clarke, Muirhead & Co.
The Holloway Electricity Supply Co., Limited.
The Islington & General Electric Supply, Ltd.
No further steps were, however, taken by the
Companies to carry out their intention.
In December, 1892, the Vestry passed the following
resolution:—
"That, whereas the Brush Electrical Engineering
Company, Limited, have with the consent and
approval of this Vestry, obtained powers to supply
this Parish with electric light and power, it be
referred to the Works Committee to ascertain how
far that would affect this Vestry in the event of
such powers being sought on its own behalf; and
also that the whole question of this Vestry undertaking
the Electric Lighting in the Parish be
referred to the Committee for immediate consideration
and report." The Committee had not concluded
their enquiries by the date at which this
report closes.
By Order,
R. E. PAGET,
Vestry Clerk.
