Fifty-two deaths also occurred from zymotic diseases in extraparochial
hospitals, viz.: 2 from measles; 18 from scarlet fever; 21
from diphtheria; 3 from whooping cough; 4 from typhoid fever;
and 4 from diarrhoea.
The average number of deaths occurring in the Parish from the
principal zymotic diseases during the past ten years was 195; so
that the number for 1892 was 76 less than the average. It must be
observed, however, that the deaths from those diseases occurring in
the hospitals is larger than last year, showing that more of the
cases are removed to hospitals than previously.
The number of deaths arising from all causes in infants under
one year was 347; extra-parochial, 52.
