at Lady-day, 1893, was 870. These lamps consist
of:—
729 square lanterns, with 5-ft burners.
97 circular top lanterns, with 5-ft. burners.
4 lanterns, with 5-ft. burners, on Churchyards.
8 lanterns, with 6-ft. burners.
15 „ 8-ft.
3 „ 12-ft.
3 „ 15-ft.
1 „ 16-ft.
5 „ 24-ft.
4 „ 30-ft.
1 „ 36-ft.
and two lanterns in Kiosk, Clerkenwell Green.
The amount paid for lighting, cleaning and
glazing, including gas, was £2829 18s. 10d., and for
new lanterns and general repairs, .£293 13s. 5d.
The amount recovered for damages to public
???amps was £4 11s. 7d.
Complaint having been made as to the darkness
of Broad Yard, the Vestry suggested to Messrs.
Murray & Co., and Messrs. Condy and Mitchell,
that, as they used the yard for storage purposes,
since the gates were fixed, they should provide and
maintain an additional lamp, which they eventually
agreed to do.
Permission was also given for the following trade
lamps to be fixed:—
64, Exmouth Street 1 bracket lamp.
