To the Vestry of the Parish of St. James and St.
John, Clerkenwell.
Gentlemen,
I beg respectfully to report that, during
the quarter ending June 30th, 1888, I purchased
and submitted to the Public Analyst the following
Articles, viz.— 10 milk, 8 coffee, 2 pepper, 1
cheese, 1 bread, 1 lard, 1 mustard.
Henry Chalkley, 22, Aylesbury Street, for selling
coffee adulterated with 20 per cent. of chicory.
Fined 20s. and 2s. costs. C/2 14.
Joseph Osborne, 15, Great Bath Street, for
selling milk adulterated with 13 per cent. of added
water. Fined 20s. and 2s costs. C/2 19.
Abner Norman, 68, Farringdon Road, for selling
milk adulterated with 13 per cent. of added water.
Fined 20s. and 2s. costs. C/2 21.
J. Brown & Son, 2a, Brunswick Street, Hackney
Road, for selling milk adulterated with 7 per cent.
of added water. Fined 10s. and 2s. costs. C/2 30.
David Lovey, 31a, Clerkenwell Green, for selling
coffee adulterated with 30 per cent. of chicory.
Fined 20s. and 2s. costs. C/2 31.
Luis Fisher, 69, Northampton Road, for selling
coffee adulterated with 35 per cent. of chicory.
Finel 20s. and 2s. costs. C/2 33.
