Cumming Street.—The Vestry of Clerkenwell
and the Islington Vestry, at their joint expense,
pulled down the wall that divided Cumming Street
from Cumming Street North, and altered the levels
of the footways and carriageway, so as to make
a thoroughfare between pentonville Road and
Wynford Road.
South Street.—By order of the late Metropolitan
Board of Works this thoroughfare has been re-named
Southern Street.
REFUGES.
The centre circular refuge, at the intersection of
St. John Street Road, Pentonville Road, Goswell
Road and High Street, was removed, and an oblong
refuge fixed in the carriageway of each of the above
named streets, the three former at the expense of
the Clerkenwoll Vestry, and that in High Street by
the Islington Vestry.
The footway paving, between the Red Lion P.H.,
in St. John Street Road, and the Urinal at the end
of Spencer Street, was taken up, and a thoroughfare
for a vehicular traffic formed, with a refuge in the
centre of the crossing.
JOBBING WORKS.
For the maintenance and general repair of the
carriageways and footways of the Parish, the following
materials have been used:—
Ballast 86 cube yards.
