For the Quarter ending 30th June, 1880.
To the Vestry of the Parish of Clerkenwell.
Gentlemen,
During the quarter ending in the 30th
June, 1880, I have received from your Inspectors,
Messrs. Thain & Cheshire, 35 samples for analysis,
consisting of Milk, Mustard, Bread, Sugar, Violet
Powder, Oatmeal, Porter, Arrowroot, Pepper, Coffee,
Tea, Rhubarb, & Rum. One of the samples of milk
was adulterated with 40 per cent. of water, one of
the samples of mustard with 15 per cent. of flour, and
the sample of coffee with 20 per cent. of chicory.
The other samples were not adulterated.
