The handles of the pumps, by means of which the water was
formerly drawn from the tanks, have since been removed, and a
new and proper supply by means of the usual above-ground cisterns,
has been laid on.
The Meteorology of the year was as follows:—

Hence the mean temperature of the whole year was above the
average, as was that of each quarter, especially the winter quarter,
and the summer and autumn quarters.
