Public Health Department,
Municipal Buildings,
Battersea, S.W. 11.
21th October, 1919.
Dear Sir (or Madam),
Facilities are now being considered by the Council of
the Health Committee in connection with the supply of
milk to expectant and nursing mothers who are likely to
be unable to provide sufficient for themselves and their
children, in view of the present high cost and the anticipated
scarcity. These facilities also apply to children
under school age, and parents are advised to bring them
to the Welfare Centres, so that recommendations may be
made in all suitable cases.
I shall be glad, therefore, if you would report to me
cases of expectant and nursing mothers who, in your
opinion, require an additional supply of milk.
Yours faithfully,
(Sgd.) G. Quin Lennane,
Medical Officer of Health.
