Illegitimate Births.
Of the total births registered in the Borough as belonging
to Battersea 159 were of illegitimate children (i.e., 5.17 per
cent.).
Marriages.
The marriages registered in Battersea during 1919 number
1,677; the marriage.rate, i.e., the number of persons married
per 1,000 of the population being 20.2.
Deaths
The total number of deaths registered in Battersea during
the year 1919 was 2,409, as compared with 3,195 in 1918.
Of the total deaths registered 1,182 were males and 1,227
females, showing an excess of 45 females.
The crude registered death-rate for Battersea in
1919 is 151 per 1,000 population. This rate is, however,
uncorrected, and, on analysing the 2,409 deaths registered,
it is found that 730 represent deaths of non-residents. These
