weekly returns of cases are sent to the County
Medical Officer. The continual movement of cases
from one district to another requires constant supervision
so that particulars can be brought up-to-date
and represent a true record.

At the end of this year the following was the number of persons shewn to be suffering from the disease and living within the district.

Measles.
There was the usual bi-enniel epidemic of
measles during the early part of the year up to
J ulv.
The number of cases which were notified by the
Head Teachers of Schools was 279.
There was only one death, however. All cases
except 5 were treated at home.
German Measles ran concurrently with that of
Measles and 49 cases were reported.
GENERAL PROVISION OF HEALTH SERVICES
IN THE AREA.
Hospitals.
1. Fever.
The Hospital provided for the isolation of cases
of infectious diseases is under the management of a
Joint Hospital Board appointed by the Urban
District Councils of Surbiton, Maiden and Esher.
At present there is accommodation for 40
patients, viz.:—Scarlet Fever 24, Diphtheria 16.
