PREVALENCE OF AND CONTROL OVER INFECTIOUS
DISEASE.
There have been no cases of Small-pox in the
area, with tho result that the risks to contacts were
less than in recent years.
Occasionally ships arrive in our ports which
have had cases of Small-pox on board, and the contacts,
if any, in Surbiton are kept under observation.
Scarlet Fever.
The number of cases of the above remain almost
as in the previous year, viz.: 87, and were evenly
distributed throughout the district, the majority
were mild cases and nine were able to be nursed at
home under proper care.
There were six return
cases.
