DISINFECTION.
During the year disinfection has been carried out at 125 premises in which the following cases of infectious diseases have occurred:—

Disinfection was also carried out at thirty-nine
premises after cases of non-notifiable diseases on
the occupiers of the houses in which the cases
occurred agreeing to pay the expense.
Library books from infected households were
disinfected by fumigation. The books from the
Public Library treated in this way numbered 122
and 4 books were destroyed.
The following articles of bedding, wearing apparel, etc., were removed to the Tolworth Isolation Hospital for steam disinfection under the superintendence of the Hospital staff:—
