A comfortable dining room has been contrived in the basement for
the use of children living at a distance from the Central School.
All Hallows Boys' School (Non-Provided).
Boys' Department.
This department needs distempering. The majority of the pictures,
maps, etc., have been removed from the walls thereby greatly improving
hygienic conditions.
Standard 4 room has a north aspect and during cold weather is
insufficiently heated. An additional stove or radiator is required.
Cloakroom.—The cloakroom is too small. There is no means of
heating same.
Playground.—A portion of the playground is unpaved and is either
muddy or dusty. Some of the gulleys are choked with rubbish and some
have the gratings missing and constitute a danger to the boys when
playing.
Lavatories.—The W.C. pans are old and foul and should be
replaced by new ones.
There is no teachers' room nor is there an inside lavatory.
St. Paul's School—(Non-Provided)
The school has been redecorated throughout, the dado having been
painted a somewhat lighter shadle of green.
Girls' Department.
Classroom.—The natural lighting is defective owing to the windows
being narrow and placed too high in the walls. The opaque panes of
the large windows in main room should be replaced by clear glass.
New desks are urgently required. A large number of those which
are at present in use have neither back nor foot rests, some are too small
and others are broken.
Cloakroom.—There is no provision for drying clothes.
Infants' Department.
Main Classroom.—In this room there is very little cross-ventilation.
