Four of the patients were treated in the Cottage Hospital,
North Wimbledon, one in Atkinson Morley's Convalescent Hospital,
five in the Isolation Hospital, and the remaining six at their
own homes.
In 6 instances the evidence strongly favours their having
contracted the disease outside the district; in 2 the contagion was
attributed to oysters, but the source of infection in the other cases
could not be traced. On one occasion only was there defective
drainage and insanitary conditions found at the patients' residences
in Wimbledon.
