Decisions of the Council of the Royal Sanitary
Institute on Resolutions passed at the Exeter
Congress, 1913.
Section B.—Engineering and Architecture.
"That the Council of The Royal Sanitary Institute be requested
to urge upon the Local Government Board the desirability
of the establishment by the Board of a tribunal of Appeal
from the decision of Local Authorities on points relating to
practice in the working of the Building Bye-Laws, and should
they consider that Parliamentary sanction is necessary for
the formation of such Tribunal or Tribunals to take steps to
obtain such authority."
A copy of this resolution was sent to the Local Government
Board, and the matter was urged on their consideration.
"That the Council of The Royal Sanitary Institute be requested
to urge His Majesty's Government to take steps to carry
into effect the recommendation of the Royal Commission on
Sewage Disposal that provision should be made for the
systematic study of purification processes, which recommendation
this Congress welcomes in view of the complexity of
the questions involved in the purification of Sewage and
the importance of a correct understanding of purification
processes."
A copy of this resolution was sent to the Prime Minister.
Section C.—Domestic Hygiene.
"That the Council of The Royal Sanitary Institute be recommended
to urge upon the proper authorities that Lessens in Girls'
Schools on the Care and Feeding of Infants should be given
