It will be noted that although 103 samples of Milk were
returned as adulterated a considerable proportion of these cases
show a deficiency either in fat or solids not fat so small in amount
that legal proceedings would scarcely be justifiable. They might be
described as Milks of very poor quality rather than adulterated
Milk, but under the "Sale of Milk Regulations" the Local Government
Board state that "it remains the duty of the Analyst to class
as adulterated or not up to standard all Milk samples failing to
reach the limits fixed by the Regulations."
