The particulars of the Institutional treatment are as
follows:—
Pulmonary Cases—Frimley Sanatorium 2.
Royal Sanatorium, Bournemouth 1.
Dartmoor Sanatorium 1.
Crooksbury Sanatorium 3.
Ventnor Sanatorium 1.
St. Michael's Home, Asbridge, 1.
Private Sanatorium 1.
Fulham Hospital (out patient), 1.
Brompton Hospital (out-patient), 1.
Victoria Park Hospital (out-patient) 1
Richmond Royal Hospital (out-patients) 4.
Richmond Union Infirmary 11.
Two cases were removed to Brookwood Asylum, and one
case to Croydon Mental Hospital.
Action taken upon Receipt of Notification.
(a) Visits made on Receipt of Primary Notification.
Upon receipt of a notification of Tuberculosis, the home
of the patient is visited by the Medical Officer of Health, or
Health Visitor, and the history of the case is recorded in a
scheduled form and filed for future reference. All patients are
visited by the direction of the Medical Officer of Health, unless
the certifying practitioner indicates that an official visit is not
desirable. In such instances the Medical Practitioner in
attendance is requested to supply the necessary information.
Advice is given to the occupants of the house as to the
measures which should be taken to prevent the spread of
infection, and a leaflet on pr ecautions to be observed, as well
as particulars relating to the disease, illustrated in a graphic
manner, is left with the patient.
An inspection of the dwelling house is made by the Sanitary
Inspector, and defective and insanitary conditions found
to exist are dealt with as early as possible.
