CANCER.
For 1906 there were 54 deaths registered from Cancer,
which is a very large increase over previous years. The
reason for this I am not prepared to explain, but at the same
time it must be borne in mind that this year, for the first
time, I am able to give the deaths of Ilford residents dying
in Romford Infirmary and the County Asylum, Brentwood,
which makes a slight addition to the sum total. Also, too,
we are now getting returns of Ilford residents who die in
London hospitals, etc.
For 1905 there were 33 deaths, giving a death-rate of .54.
