DAIRIES, COWSHEDS AND MILKSHOPS.
There is one cowkeeper in the District. About twelve
cows usually occupy the two cowsheds owned by him.
These were periodically inspected. The sheds have a
cement flooring, they are well drained, and the cows are
kept in a cleanly condition. The cows are examined by
a Veterinary Inspector every three months, and he
reports the result of' his examination to your Council.
These reports have been satisfactory.
Towards the end of the year a letter was received
from the Thames Valley Councils Association with regard
to Milch Cows suffering from Tuberculosis.

should be requested to at once notify the Authority
of every fresh cow placed in the milking sheds, so that
such cow could be examined at an early date by the
Veterinary Inspector. Your Council on my advice
endorsed this suggestion.
There are two dairies, one of which is kept by the
above-mentioned cowkeeper, and also a milkshop. These
were frequently inspected, and were always found to be
kept in a cleanly condition. The milk consumed in this
District, with the exception of that supplied by the cowkeeper,
mostly comes from the Salisbury Dairy Company.
SLAUGHTER HOUSES.
There is one in the District, and it is kept in a
cleanly condition. It was frequently visited. No
carcases or parts of carcases were condemned for Tuberculosis.
OFFENSIVE TRADES.
There are none at the present time.
An Order was made by your Council in the early
part of the year, and confirmed by the Local Government
Board, declaring each of the following trades,
