As a result of the inspections made 238 contraventions were
discovered, resulting in legal proceedings being instituted in ten
instances, as follows:—
Contravening Butchers' Closing Order 3
Contravening the Grocers', Provision Dealers' and
General Shop-keepers' Half-Holiday Order 2
Employing children during prohibited hours 2
Not giving Assistants their Weekly Half- Holiday 2
Failure to exhibit Assistants' Weekly Half-Holiday
