(b) Inspections for general cleanliness made by the nurses
under Section 122 of the Children Act, 1908.
In this connection the results have been less satisfactory. The
number of children examined for cleanliness during 1913 was 403
less than in 1912, and the number of cleansings effected was only
16, as compared with 171 during the same period.
The explanation of the general falling off in respect of this
important aspect of the work is due simply to lack of staff.
In order to make comparison the following table is sub-mitted:—
