BUTTER.
I dealer was fined £5 and costs 15s. 6d.

2 dealers were each fined £2 and costs 15s. 6d.
1 dealer was fined £1 and costs 15s. 6d.
For exposing margarine for sale unlabelled, 1 dealer was
fined 10s. and costs 15s. 6d.
FOOD AND MEAT INSPECTION.
There is no specially qualified or separate official for food
inspection, but each Sanitary Inspector performs this duty in
the portion of the district under his charge.
A quantity of unsound food was condemned during the year,
particulars of which are given below. In the majority of cases
this was voluntarily surrendered therefore no legal proceedings
took place.

With respect to meat inspection for the purpose of detecting
disease, this can only be efficiently done at the time of slaughtering,
when the whole of the Viscera and offal can be examined.
