Illegitimate Births.
Of the total births, 49, or 1.4 per cent., were illegitimate.
In the previous year the percentage of these births was 1.6
per cent. Nine of these births occurred in the Workhouse.
The death-rate of these illegitimate infants, under 1 year of
age, was equal to 449 per 1,000, the rate for legitimate infants
for the same age being 90 per 1,000.
