DENSITY OF POPULATION.
The area of the Borough in statute acres is 3.355, including 53
acres of Inland water, 20 acres tidal, and 9 acres foreshore.
The estimated population at January, 1905, was 121,428.
This is equal to 36.19 persons per acre.
BIRTHS.
The number of births registered in the Borough for the year
was 3,717—1,923 males and 1,794 females. This being equal to a
birth-rate of 31.78.
The birth-rate for the previous year was 34 4, and the average
for the past 10 years 35.07. The excess of births over deaths was

2,105. The births were registered in the different Wards as follows:—
