Scavenging.
The house refuse is collected weekly by the Council's own staff
and conveyed to the tip at Brunswick Park.
The provision of a refuse destructor, will have to receive the
consideration of the Council, in the near future.
Industries and Occupations.
The industries carried on within the district are on the increase,
the factories of Messrs. Carr & Sons, also Messrs. Tylor & Co., at
Brunswick Park, being considerably enlarged. Also a new factory is
now in course of construction at the north end of Cromer Road.
The factories and workshops in the District including laundries
and bakeries, number 123.
These are periodically inspected, and the condition of employment
found generally satisfactory, and no special circumstance exists
which is prejudicial to public health.
Housing Accommodation.
The Council are at present erecting 56 working men's houses on
Nickell's field, East Barnet, which are expected to be completed and
ready for occupation about October next, and further houses are
contemplated later.
It is hoped that this will tend to minimise the present shortage
of houses.
General Inspection.
The work under this heading appears in the Sanitary Inspector's
Report.
