other substances of a like nature, or the regulations

General Matters.
The provisions of the County Council of Middlesex
(General Powers) Act, 1906, with respect to premises
where ice-cream is manufactured and stored have been
enforced, aad 29 such places were registered for periodical
inspection.
As in previous years, the 14 private schools in the
district have been visited quarterly, and all the proprietors
appear to exercise the greatest care regarding
the sanitation of their schools.
I have, on various occasions, inspected the registered
marine stores, with a view to discovering whether the
provisions of the Public Health Acts Amendment
Act, 1907, as to dealers in old metal and marine stores,
were being contravened, but the persons carrying on
this business are so far strictly complying with the
Act.
In concluding this report, I beg to record my
appreciation of the support of the Council and the
Medical Officer of Health in the discharge of my
duties.
I am, Gentlemen,
Your obedient Servant,
JOHN H. CLARKE,
Chief Sanitary Inspector.
