There were five deaths; several of these were in
extremis" on admission. Although there was but a
slight increase in the number of admissions, the diseases
were of a more severe type which naturally added to
the responsibility and work of the matron and nurses.
The porter has also carried out his duties diligently and
effectively.
The reports of your Chief Sanitary Inspector, and
that of your Health Visitor, are appended together with
the usual tables prescribed by the Local Government
Board.
In conclusion I wish to express my appreciation of
the kindness which I have received from the Chairman
and Members of the Public Health Committee during
the past year, and I must again testify to the zeal and
loyalty characteristic of my staff in the execution of
their several duties.
I am, Gentlemen,
Obediently yours,
FREDC C. DODSWORTH,
Medical Officer of Health.
Medical Superintendent of the Isolation Hospital.
Fellow of the Society of M. O. H.
Member of the Royal Society of London.
