year.
Membranous Croup.
Six cases were notified and four deaths; the first
in May, the second in October, and the others in
November and December.
Whooping Cough
Caused nine deaths; all young children, mostly
under a year.
Measles.
There were five deaths from this complaint during
the months of March, May, and June. For the preceding
year there were 34 deaths.
Enteric or Typhoid Fever.
Six cases were notified and two deaths: one at
Gunnersbury and one on the Glebe Estate. The
former was imported; the drainage of the house
where the latter occurred was found defective, and
possibly accounted for the disease.
Continued Fever
A death was registered from this complaint.
Puerperal Fever
There were two cases notified and one death.
Erysipelas.
47 notifications and no deaths.
Diarrhœa
This complaint has caused 21 deaths, and was
prevalent during the months of July, August, and
September, mostly in children under a year.
