ZYMOTIC DEATH RATE.
The Zymotic Death Rate is a term commonly applied to
the rates of Deaths occurring from the seven principal
Zymotic complaints, viz., Small Pox, Scarlet Fever,
Diphtheria, Whooping Cough, Diarrhoea, and " Fever
which latter term includes Typhus, Typhoid (Enteric) and
Puerperal Fevers. During the year 1923, the number of
deaths from these complaints numbered 4, the Zymotic
Death Rate, therefore, being 0.24 per thousand of population.
The deaths from Phthisis numbered 12. This gives a
Phthisical Death Rate of 0.73 per thousand of population.
