Horses are hired by the day at 5s. 5¼d. per ordinary day's
work and for Borough Market cleansing at night, the Board
finding their own carmen and carts.
The quantity of ballast used on the Bridge Inclines, Wood
Paving, &c., for the year was 1,120 yards cube, which cost,
including spreading, £345 6s. 8d.
The quantity of ballast used under Pitching and other paving
works was 519 yards cube.
BOARD'S WORKMEN.
The Rate of wages paid to the workmen in the employ of the
Board is as follows:—
Masons 9£d. per hour.
Paviors 9iW. „
Hammermen 7½d.
