public sewers, as follows:—

have been laid in connection with public and private drainage
work during the year:—

The flushing valves ami penstocks in connection with the
river have been maintained in good order. The concrete
flushing tank are frequently used, and successfully perform
the work for which they were constructed.
Thirty-six licenses for hoardings and scaffolds have been
issued.
The carriageways and footways have been restored in 873
cases after (Ins and Water Companies' trenches.
