The Chalet.
Extensive alterations have been made to the public conveniences
at the east end of Southwark Street; the public
urinal, which formerly existed, has been removed, and additional
water closets and lavatory basins erected. An increase
in receipts is expected as a result of these alterations.
An old urinal has been re-erected in Southwark Street, by
the Hop and Malt Exchange, in place of that which has been
abolished at the Chalet.

The following new Gullies have been constructed and connected with the Public Sewers:—

Eleven new gully grates and frames of the ordinary pattern
have been fixed, and four of the improved pattern.
The brick sewers in Broadwall, Sumner Street, Park Street,
and Marlboro' Street, have been repaired.
One hundred and seven cubic yards of soil have been removed
from the sewers and carted.
