During- the year the following lamps have been cut off
1 at 19, York Place.
1 on site of Underground Lavatories, Charing Cross.
2 in Duncannon Street.
3 in St. Martin's Place.
A new design of lamp column and lantern has been adopted for
the ordinary street lighting, the column having the arms of the
parish in relief upon the base, the whole being an improvement upon
the old, and in most cases, unsightly lamps.
New lamps have been fixed upon the east footway of the
Haymarket, it being found necessary to remove most of the old ones
when repaving.
Additional lamps have been fixed as follows :—
1 G-ft. lamp opposite No. 3, St. Martin's Court.
1 „ No. 106, Long Acre.
1 10-ft. „ Trafalgar Buildings, Northumberland
Avenue, in place of two private
lamps recently removed.
*1 20-ft. lamp on new refuge St. Martin's Place, opposite
the Church.
1 20-ft. „ on new refuge in Northumberland Avenue,
by the Avenue Theatre.
New lamps have also been fixed upon the new refuges in the
Haymarket, each consuming 20 feet of gas per hour. The expense
of providing and fixiug same has been equally borne by the Vestry
f St. James, "W estminster, and your Vestry, and the cost of lighting
will also be apportioned in the same manner.

The cost of lighting, cleansing, and maintaining is as follows:-
