MEDICAL OFFICER'S REPORT,
1891.
Annual Report on the Health of the Parish of St. martin-in-the-Fields,
for the Year 1891.
To The Vestry of Sr. martin-in-the-Fields.
Gentlemen,
I have the honour of submitting to you my Twenty-second
Annual Report on the health and sanitary condition of the Parish.
The decennial numbering of the people took place this year. As
regards our own Parish, the population was found to have decreased
since the last census of 1881. This falling off is due to many
former residents having removed to the suburbs or the country, and
to the demolition of so many houses for improvements, &c., but
when the houses now in course of construction are finished, many
of which will be let as residential flats, I think by the next
census the population of the Parish will be found to have
considerably increased.
Birth
The Births registered in the Parish during the year numbered
252, a number 15 less than the previous year, 1890.
