the ground. The prevention of trespass through the iron palisade
fence, required for the more effectual supervision of the ground, has
been secured by the insertion of wrought iron bars between the cast
iron standards or balusters. The cost of the alterations to the iron
railing amounted to £127 10s. 11d. The Vestry subsequently
decided to treat the railing in front of the Church in a similar
manner at an additional cost of £39 4s. 9d.

LICENCES.
54 Licences (not including renewals) have been granted for
hoardings and scaffolds for the purpose of pulling down, re-building,
and alterations. Licences have also been granted, in 12 cases,
to take up pavements for repairing rain water pipes, connections to
sewers, and other similar purposes. The cost of making good these
openings has been charged to the person taking out the Licence.
