Therefore the Death-rate of the Parish for the year 1889 would

Ratio of deaths to population 1 in 58.2. The deaths registered
in London in the year 1889 numbered 75,683, and corresponded
to an annual death-rate of 17.4 per 1,000. This is the lowest
death-rate as yet recorded in London.
