PRorosED new vestry hall— continued.
21st March, 1889, it was resolved, under certain conditions, to offer
Messrs. Holt and Bates the sum of £1,000 for giving up possession
of their premises, No. 114. St. Martin's Lane, on the 15th April
then next.

On the 3rd May, 1888, Messrs. Roger de Coverley, Lionel
Charles Drummond and Thomas Prescott were re-elected Commissioners.
On the 20th September, the Yestry sanctioned the
borrowing of a loan of £20,000, required by the Commissioners for
the purchase of land, and for the erection of the building.
H.I.M. THE EMPEROR OF GERMANY.
On the 28th June, 1888, a vote of sympathy with Her Majesty
the Queen and the Members of the Royal Family on the decease of
the late Emperor, Frederick the Third, was passed, and on the 20th
July a letter of acknowledgment from the Secretary of State for the
Home Department, on behalf of Her Majesty, was submitted.
CECIL COURT.
On the 13th December, 1888, the Solicitors reported that they
had provisionally approved draft of the Agreement for the widening
of the Court, but they were unable finally to approve of the same
until it had been submitted to the Solicitors to the Marquis of
Salisbury, when it was resolved that, subject to the Agreement
being finally approved by the Solicitors, the Churchwardens be
authorised to affix the Seal of the Vestry thereto.
MAIN ROADS, MAINTENANCE OF.
On the 21st March, 1889, it was determined to make application
to the London County Council for orders that certain streets in the
parish should be declared to be main roads under the Local Government
(England and \\ ales) Act, 1888, on the understanding that
the \ estry should retain their control, and receive an annual
payment from the Council in respect of the cost of maintenance of
the roads.

POOR, GENERAL, SEWERS, AND LIBRARY RATES. A statement of the above Rates made by the Vestry for the last 10 years is hereunder shown.
