By this table it will be seen that in the year 1871, the
mortality was considerably less than the year 1870,
the death-rate being 2.5 per 1,000 less in the former
year than the latter year.
Of the 526 deaths in the year 1871, 150 of them
occurred in the Charing Cress Hospital; 35 of this
number which died in the Hospital were residents in
the Parish of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, the remaining
115 were from other parts of London and the country.
This circumstance will therefore diminish the deathrate
of the Parish in the following manner:—
