1871.
Annual Report on the Health the Parish of St. Martin-in-theFields,for
the Year 1871.
Gentlemen,
I have the honour of submitting to you my
second Annual Report of the sanitary condition of the
Parish of St. Martin-in-the-Fields. The census was
taken on the night of Palm Sunday, 2nd April, 1871,
and the result, so far as our Parish is concerned, shows
the population to be 21,157. The previous census,
(1861) the population was 22,689. From the foregoing
figures, it will be seen that the population of the Parish
has decreased 1,532.
The Births during the year 1871 show a decrease
over the year 1870 of 33.
