sanitary improvements since the Metropolitan Management
Act came into operation in 1856. It is not a
complete record, but interesting as fur as it goes. The
number of houses inspected applies to the same houses
which year after year are again visited, and I regret to
observe that, however frequent may be the re-inspections
the same premises always require more or less a
repetition of former sanitary measures :—
