8. A bakehouse must not be in such a state as to be on sanitary
grounds unfit for use or occupation as a bakehouse.
4. No child, young person, or woman may be employed in a
bakehouse contrary to the provisions of the Factory and
Workshop Act, 1878.
Penalties are provided in the event of an infringement
of the law; bakehouses brought into use after the 31st
of May, 1883, are subject to certain further requirements.
The bakehouses in the Parish (27 in number) are under
periodical inspection by the Sanitary officers of the VestryIt
has not been found necessary to take proceedings against
the occupiers of any premises of that description during the
past year.
SALE OF FOOD, &c., ACTS.
The following is a list of the articles purchased by the
Inspectors, and submitted to the Public Analyst appointed
by the Vestry, during the year:—

Proceedings were taken in seven cases. In six of these
cases fines were inflicted, and in the seventh (a case of
vinegar certified to contains only 312 per cent. of true
acetic acid) the summons was dismissed with costs, in con.
sequence of the Magistrate having received a letter from the
Government Analysts at Somerset House, stating in reply
