The death rate of the year 1872 was 620, so that
the cxcess of deaths over the last year was only 9.
But for the unfortunate outbreak of Measles in the
last quarter of the year, bringing up the death rate
from the average of 145 in each of the previous
quarters to the number 251, last year would have
been the healthiest year ever recorded in the Parish.
As compared with the average death rate in the
Parish, which has been 730, it shews a diminution
of ONE HUNDRED AND 01SE DEATHS.
